Kaprun

Kaprun is a tradtional little village, beautiful to visit all year round. Due to the popularity of the Winter season, The village has a very relaxed & casual atmosphere during the Summer months. Traditional Austrian decoration runs throughout the village & locals are friendly & helpful. Locals residents take pride in their local environment & the village is kept immaculately clean. The main village square 'The Salzburgerplatz' occasionally holds festivals & street parties. The Pavillon bar is suitable for all & ice creams are incredible!! 

One thing you'll notice about Kaprun in the Summer is how clean it is. All roads, paths and gardens are all immaculately kept, hanging baskets with flower arrangements are on show on balconies & everyone makes that little bit extra effort to make sure you are happy. The weather is most often clear skies & reasonably hot weather, averaging in the mid to late 30's. If you choose to come earlier or later on in the season (eg. May / September) you may experience the odd storm or two. Make sure you bring a waterproof! 

Kaprun has all the essentials you need for a great holiday - There is a large ADEG super market in the centre of town, along with numerous sports shops. There are numerous bars, restaurants & shops all located very close by so it's nice & easy to find your way around. There are several bars all located near the centre of the village. The highly anticipated 'Tauern Spa', thermal resort opened recently & has brought a whole new range of relaxation facilities to you fingertips!! 

The 'Optimum Centre' is also a popular leisure centre in Kaprun & is a great place to visit in the summer. It's facilities include a large indoor pool, outdoor leisure & play pool (plus small water slide), gymnasium*, sauna, steam room & a huge outdoor relaxation area when the weather is hot & sunny (as it most often is!!) *Extra charge for use of gymnasium*

Tauern Spa - NEW for 2011.

The Tauern Spa is a huge new leisure complex just a few minutes walk from the centre of Kaprun village. If you're looking for some relaxtion and recovery, this is the place to be!

There are more than ten seperate pools in the complex, two of which are thermal heated! There are spacious areas to relax, sauna's and solariums', grab a drink or something to eat, or chill at one of the many bars. Or, if you've still some energy to burn there's a state of the art gymnasium to sweat some more!

There are various activies to keep the kids entertained. The Lazy river, water slides & play areas are great fun for the younger ones, while others enjoy the chance to relax in or outdoors.

However, if you're considering a short or longer holiday duration, or you wish to travel independantly we can help out! You really do get what you pay for with your accomodation in Austria. If you're looking for a bargain, your best options are to book a chalet or small 'B&B' style pension. These are usually small family ran chalets with a clean and friendly style. 

If you're able to be flexible you an get yourself a excellent value deal with a last minute booking with one of the leading tour operators. This could leave you with spare for many of the activities & excursions... If you leave it really late there are incredible offers available!
